When it first arrived in Australia in 2011 this Mazda CX-5 was praised for the styling and general liveability to be a crossover wagon, but we werent impressed through the performance of really the only engine on offer during the time. Quoting the Mazda marketing and advertising slogan we mentioned the petrol model was more Zoom than Zoom-Zoom in the way it performed.
That criticism was answered a few months later when Mazda made available the CX-5 with all the option of the turbodiesel - all of us soon announced this Zoom-Zoom was back. So in the interest of our car enjoyment we not too long ago re-tested a CX-5 for any week, and once again came away pleased
Interestingly, the diesel powered Mazda CX-5 has been promoted as the performance unit as opposed to an economy just one.




DESIGN
To the eyes, Mazdas Kodo styling theme with its big grille, long bonnet in addition to deeply sculpted sides works even better in the CX-5 than in other range. We find it irresistible
ENGINE / TRANNY
The Mazda SkyActiv turbodiesel suited to the CX-5 creates an impressive 420Nm in addition to 129kW.
It sits beside a six-speed intelligent transmission and drives all four wheels, unlike the petrol which comes with the choice connected with front-wheel or all-wheel push.

FEATURES
A premium nine-speaker Bose surround audio system was specifically designed for the CX-5. There are UNIVERSAL SERIES BUS and Bluetooth inputs along with iPod playback including on-screen music details and Aux jack port as standard.

DRIVING
