BMW Prepare Carbon Fiber Rims
Munich - BMW could be the first manufacturer to standard carbon fiber rims . The rim is made Australian company , Carbon Revolution ( CR ) , has been introduced in the mat BMW Innovation Days 2014 in Munich . The marketing plan is said to begin in 2016 .

CR homemade rim is claimed as the first carbon fiber rims are made with forged techniques ( printed without connection ) . Citroen SM car s performance is the first model that uses a mix of carbon and resins to the rim in 1972 .
Then in 2008 , Weds Sports introducing pure carbon fiber rim on one model. CR has launched all- carbon fiber rims , CR - 9 , the Shelby Ultimate Aero , and then finally decided to counter , USD 16.000 per set ( 4 rims ) .
Not only rims , BMW also showcases some of the other parts are made of carbon fiber , such as the steering wheel and the coupling ( propeller shaft ) . In addition to light , the display can give the impression gahar steering wheel . While the coupling is claimed to 3 kg lighter than steel , means that will help minimize friction . These components will be used in the M3 and M4 .

Audi Starting Apply Spring Suspension from Fiber Glass
Spring-loaded glass fibers to be used for the first time in mid-size car models before the end of 2014 and above this size does have a thicker and larger than conventional steel springs, yet weighs 40% lighter.
Audi claims every spring only weigh about 1.6 kg, while the steel springs can reach 2.7 kg. This may not sound too much, but Audi says the spring will reduce total vehicle weight by approximately 4.4 pounds and half of the unsprung mass.
In addition to lighter, spring-loaded glass fiber is claimed to be tough because they do not corrode and are resistant to chemicals such as cleaning fluids wheel.
According to the head of Audis Technical Development, Dr Ulrich Hackenberg, "The springs GFRP save weight at important locations within a vehicle chassis system. We want to make the drive to be more accurate and improve comfort shocks."
